In 2026 recruiters ask for a target salary in round one. Do not blurt a single number. Give a defensible range anchored to market data plus your current total compensation. • Days 1 to 5: draft 12 STAR plus stories in a single document. Do not polish. Get them down.
• Days 6 to 10: rehearse each story aloud, timed to 2 minutes. Cut any story that runs over 2 minutes 30 seconds.
• Days 11 to 14: run two mock interviews with a peer or paid coach. Record and review.
• Days 15 to 18: research each interviewer on LinkedIn, prepare 3 role specific questions, draft the 30 60 90 plan.
• Days 19 to 21: light rehearsal only, sleep, no new material. Fresh mind beats extra reading.

Sleep 8 hours the night before. Eat before the loop, not during breaks. Have a one page cheat sheet visible off camera with your 12 story titles and your target range, so a nervous blank moment does not derail you. That is it. Anything more elaborate is nerves theatre.
